Girija and Akshara partnered to take their love for creativity, respect for sustainability and added some lemons to the mix to come up with Fresh Lime Soda. It is an outlet for their creative and conscious mind that aims at designing clothes that’ll make people feel comfortable in their skin and chic all at the same time. Girija and Akshara were also keen on sending their clothes in eco-friendly packages to minimize their carbon footprint and do their bit to give back to the world. So, they came up with a shitty idea of making price tags out of elephant poop. If the tags are so whacky, one can only imagine how crazy the Fresh Lime Soda prints will be.
About Girija
Girija is a graduate in Biotechnology. It was a good precursor to her acting career because she had to act like she understood what the professors were teaching all through college. JK. She was one of those allrounder kids who did well in studies and extracurricular activities. That is what led her to her acting career in Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi film, television and theater industry.
Like most desi millennials, Girija was taught by her mother from a young age that the life of any piece of clothing ends only after its optimum use. So, she either had to upcycle her clothes, pass them on to younger cousins or recycle them. Thanks to that teaching, she still manages to breathe oxygen for free. In the hope of leaving behind enough free oxygen for the future generation, Girija has actively started working towards building a more sustainable environment.
About Akshara
Akshara is a graduate in Home Science and spent a considerable number of years working a 9-5 job in Dubai. Details of the job aren’t important, but it is important for you to know that Akshara hated wearing fast fashion formal clothing. The tight shirts made from synthetic materials made her feel constricted not just physically but also creatively.
Since childhood, Akshara was always that girl who loved designing her own clothes and picking out the right fabric that allowed her skin to breathe. She thrived on participating in arts and crafts workshops that helped her channel her creative energy. One fine day, after attending a hand block printing workshop in Mumbai’s humid climate, she took a cab to go back home, downed a bottle of fresh lime soda, tied her hair up, and allowed her ears to hear her calling.
